Building Connectedness and Character through nature

The outdoors is a place that can enhance wellness and make us feel at peace. To encourage safe risk taking and embrace nature we extended our outdoor learning areas. Nature Play occurs in The Mini Forest, Yarning Circle and Fig Tree Deck. These areas are available for our students and teachers to enjoy. The Nature Play areas are place where students extend their play and curiosity. The Mini Forest is used during lunch breaks for those who play in the Senior Playground area. Playing in the Mini Forest includes an opportunity to engage in fully supervised stick and natural objects play. The Fig Tree Deck is a place where classes learn with their teacher during their class time. The Yarning Circle can be used flexibly. The Junior Playground also has a rocky creek bed where children can experience texture and different surfaces.
