INTEGRATED UNITS
Term 1:
“What Makes Australia Great”
The students will develop an understanding that people come to Australia for a variety of reasons. Some people migrate to Australia for a better life and improved job opportunities. Others visit Australia as part of sporting groups, tourists, students etc.
Students will learn that Australia has many natural wonders and man made icons that attract tourists eg The Great Barrier Reef, Kakadu, Uluru and The Sydney Opera House.
Students will produce a poster, booklet or concept map illustrating a planned journey around Australia showing places of interest and justifying their choices, with captions under the pictures. The students will make an oral presentation to the class demonstrating their learning.
